400 years of history have left an important legacy to Arenys, which is the great cultural patrimony that we can enjoy today. There is Santa Maria church, with a fantastic baroque altarpiece; the Museum Marès de la Punta (bobbin lace); the defense towers, built in 16 C to defend the town from the pirates; the Museum Mollfulleda de Mineralogia, with minerals from Catalonia and other parts of the world; Sinera’s cemetery, where the poet Salvador Espriu is buried; and the harbour, where there are most of the fishing boats of the region and which offers a wide variety of options to have fun, to practice sport and to eat out, apart from the fish auction, which takes place every afternoon.

There are itineraries and routes to learn about the region’s culture, architecture and litterature (about the poet Salvador Espriu and the writer Lluís Ferran de Pol, for instance). It is also possible to discover the town and the surroundings with guided tours as well as with the touristic train.

You can also practice sea activities, such as diving, sailing and kayak; as well as other activities in the town or in the surroundings, like trekking, cycling, volleyball, jogging, adventure park, horse riding or relaxing in a spa.
